Tuina Classes

We offer a progression of 4 Tuina weekend seminars.  These classes are appropriate for Acupuncturists, Physical Therapists, Massage Therapists, Personal Trainers, Martial Artists, and Movement Teachers who want to develop a technically sound method for treating pain and injury.

Introduction to Tuina

This class teaches basic hand techniques used in Tuina.  It includes relevant study of anatomy and physiology, basic Chinese Medicine theory, and qigong exercises to prepare the body for Tuina practice.

Tuina Level 1

This course introduces a powerful and unique lineage of medical bodywork .  This highly effective system that offers instantaneous relief of pain and movement restriction relies on a method of using the Hua Tuo Jia Ji points of the spine and Bagua theory.

Tuina Level II

This course expands on the Introduction class and the Tuina Level I class.  This third workshop adds new techniques and is designed to refine the clinical reasoning process through case studies and treatment strategies for dealing with difficult cases (8 hours)

Integrative tuina

The Introductory to Tuina class offers the basic hand techniques and foundations of practice.  The Tuina I class teaches a method of diagnosis and treatment using the spine and the primary keyholes to unlocking the body.  This class gives practical insight into how tuina can be integrated into your own personal style of manual therapy practice.  Techniques and flow from neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Shiatsu, Swedish massage, craniosacral therapy, and kinesio taping will be covered to demonstrate the versatility of tuina methods.
